Immunization Day – Ouch!

Last Friday was immunization day and it wasn’t pretty. The friendly and helpful Davis County nurse educated us on the health risks for the area in Kenya we’ll be visiting and determined each of us would need 6 immunizations (with the exception of Michael who lucked out with only 4 since he had just received his junior high shots).

Wow, six shots each!

  • IPV (Polio)
  • Hepatitis A & B
  • Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis)
  • Typhoid
  • Yellow fever
  • Influenza (flu shot)

Emma was quite the helper. She was there to hold Monica’s hand while they gave her the shots and you’ll notice her catching a good view in Michael’s picture. đŸ˜‰

We all survived but our arms were pretty sore all weekend. I was completely behind with my immunizations so this was a great reason to get caught up again. One less thing to worry about for our trip in July!
